IT ALL BEGINS WITH AN IDEA OR AN IMPULSE

Karen Parisian

Karen Parisian is a Chicago Artist working out of her studio in the Hubbard St. Lofts building. Sales and commissions have landed her art in the homes of collectors nationally and internationally.  She has been published in a book titled ‘Night of One Hundred Angels’, showcasing images of spirituality from around the world. Her paintings have been used on set for the NBC TV series Chicago Fire and in the Crate and Barrel – The Artful Home - Spring 2020 Catalogue. In addition, her work appears in the September 2022 issue of Architectural Digest magazine.

Karen’s focus has been on figurative abstraction and spiritualism in art. Exploring the spiritual in art is an ongoing process for her, as she believes that spirituality and art occur simultaneously, linking the emotional and the physical. Expressive lines as well as refined and specific shapes reflect both the complexities and simplicities of life, the need for connection and the desire to create balance and equilibrium in the process. Universalities of human existence are projected in an attempt to find balance and hope in an often, contradictory world.
